Re: [Question #658735]: Triaxial (CD)

Question #658735 on Yade changed:

    Status: Open => Answered

Robert Caulk proposed the following answer:
>Error message

The error says it all. finalFricDegree is not defined. You can define it
by adding:

finalFricDegree=18

to your script.

>Therefore, I completely deleted from the script. Do you think it will
affect my model?

The compFricDegree and finalFricDegree variables are used in the triax
tutorial script for efficiently reaching a desired porosity. The idea is
that during this stage, you want the particles to move as freely as
possible. Therefore, compFricDegree is low (and it is decreased during
the porosity calculations) and finalFricDegree is applied after the
desired porosity is achieved. It appears you aren't trying to reach a
desired porosity (you have this section commented out), so you are
right, it doesn't matter in your script.

>Also, I try to model triaxial (CD), I would like to ask you this is the
correct model for CD or not?

The script-session1.py example demonstrates how to set up at
consolidated drained triaxial model in yade. It is set up to apply
constant axial strain rate and constant radial (well side wall)
pressure.
