Re: [Question #659557]: Flow engine working randomly with CHOLMOD

Question #659557 on Yade changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/yade/+question/659557

Bruno Chareyre posted a new comment:
I'm confident in the fact that something random occurs. This is consistently reported by you (Luc) and Lingran (thanks for detailed report).
This is most likely unrelated to Yade, which is at the same time good news: someone else will fix it hopefully; and bad news: we can't do much except testing various compile/config by trial and error until openblas+cholmod+eigen will work deterministicaly.
Alternatively, a solution could be to switch to a different solver, i.e. useSolver=1 or reimplement another (or many other) linear solvers (useSolver=2,3,4,...).

If I find time I will prepare "hello world" examples for the cholmod-
through-eigen method (the current one) and send them to you Luc/Lingran
for testing.

I would also ask you Luc/Lingran to test yade compiled with disabled
openmp, and possibly to compile openblas on your side with also disabled
openmp.

Bruno
