Just an additional comment:

Running my simulations with debug=1, I obtain the exact same output when
it works and when it does not work.

Even at the very last line of the output (total force), I obtain the
same values for each case (which is always !=0).

I haven't gone through the entire code yet but is this "total force"
computed from fluid pressure? If yes, would that mean that the pressure
is computed correctly and that the problem could be in the "writing" of
the pressure in the cells?
