Hi Bettina, 
Yes, it is possible to clump pfacets, although not fully tested.
I didn't read your script but I would say the problem is you appended only the pfacets to the clump.
All parts, nodes+edges+facets should be part of the clump.

You may see weird effects in the 3D view after doing that but that's
only a display problem (and pausing the simulation gets the display
fixed).
