Jérôme, the initial report above was for a single iteration: O.run(1).
To answer your question, I did a reset of the timing statistics and then
ran for 100 iterations (very small verlet distance so collider was
running every iteration) letting the particles settle under gravity.  I
did not see any statistically significant differences for those next 100
iterations.  It is only the first initial sort where there are
differences.
