[Bug 719577] Re: extend method _inject_net_into_fs() in nova/virt/disk.py to not only support Debian-based images
It has now been over two years since this was opened and still hasn't
been worked on. I'm just going to close it out as Won't Fix.
I think almost everyone is just using a different networking mode where
this isn't needed. It's a hack, anyway.

Title:
extend method _inject_net_into_fs() in nova/virt/disk.py to not only
support Debian-based images
Status in OpenStack Compute (Nova):
Opinion
Bug description:
At the moment it's only possible to inject a template to
/etc/network/interfaces on images. Because I'm using SLES11 and
they're using other files and an other format to configure there
networks I want to have the option to 1) specify the usage template
file and 2) to specify the destination file in the image. I suggest
using two new flags (--inject_net_file_template,
--inject_net_file_destination) and to place the temlate file per
default in /etc/nova/ and not in /usr/lib.../site-packages/nova/virt/.
