This is expected.  Nova also has shadow tables where you can archive
rows.  Try ask.openstack.org or the openstack mailing list for more
information on this.

Bug description:
  When I working on Openstack, I noticed that mysql data size keep increase. 
  Looks like nova never delete records from mysql for deleted instances.
  Is this a bug ?
  Or it designed to work like this ?
  If it is designed to work like this,  why ?
