[Bug 1220164] Re: It would be ideal if Keystone also accepted named parameters for tenants and roles etc

I assume you're specifically referring to the CLI (rather than
keystone's API), where this is already implemented by python-
openstackclient.

** Changed in: keystone

Title:
It would be ideal if Keystone also accepted named parameters for
  tenants and roles etc

Status in OpenStack Identity (Keystone):
  Invalid

Bug description:
Currently keystone requires passing ID values to nearly every command,
until when adding users to roles you're knee deep in 3 giant hashes
that you're juggling and copy-pasting around.

This is really tedious, error prone, and also makes it more complex to
just script a default keystone install.

This should allow passing plain usernames, tenant names and role names
  rather than their ID.
