Title:
user role is mandatory to access EC2 and not for nova
Status in OpenStack Identity (Keystone):
Expired
Bug description:
I have created a tenant and user using keystone client and also
generated the ec2credentials(accesskey,secrectkey) and haven't
assigned a role yet.
when I tried to execute the nova commands it was successful
but when I tried to execute the euca commands It was giving
$ euca-describe-instances
Unauthorized: Failure communicating with keystone
and I could see the following warning message in keystone log
2012-10-03 23:30:54 WARNING [keystone.common.wsgi] An unhandled exception has occurred: Could not find metadata.
2012-10-03 23:31:00 WARNING [keystone.common.wsgi] An unhandled exception has occurred: Could not find metadata.
2012-10-03 23:31:03 WARNING [keystone.common.wsgi] An unhandled exception has occurred: Could not find metadata.
After associating a role euca worked for me.
is this expected?
when nova is working with out associating a role ,euca shouldn't also do the same?
