[Bug 1252185] Re: instance created from volume lack volume info

 

Agree with chenhaiq that nova api does not return this information. The
'image' field in 'nova show' only indicates that it was booted from a
volume but does not specify which volume.

It is also problematic to try to infer the boot volume by assuming that
the boot volume is the only volume mounted or that it is mounted on a
particular device (e.g. /dev/vda).

Bug description:
  When Launching Instance "Boot from volume"

  Instance launches however instances list doesn't view instance's
  volume info, and the overview either.

  I think user need to know which volume the instance boot from.
