  prevent extraneous log messages and stdout prints

  Fix Released

Bug description:
  When we run unit tests using './run_tests.sh glance.tests.unit', it
  prints quite a lot of unwanted log messages and stdout prints. This
  quite badly clutters the whole unit test result output making things
  difficult to see whats happening.
