This wishlist bug has been open a year without any activity. I'm going
to move it to "Opinion / Wishlist", which is an easily-obtainable queue
of older requests that have come on. This bug can be reopened (set back
to "New") if someone decides to work on this.

Title:
  Service stats needs to be unified across virt layer

Status in OpenStack Compute (nova):

Bug description:
  XenAPI, LibVirt and other virt layers all report their stats (disk,
  ram, network, etc) differently. We haven't really solidified what the
  base statistics being reported should be and what units they should be
  in. For things like the distributed scheduler to work across all virt
  layers, this should really be nailed down.
