[Bug 1231874] Re: attaching a volume to a VM booted form an iso image fails

Bug description:
On grizzly (installed from Ubuntu repositories), when booting a VM from an ISO image, attempts to attach a volume to it fails with errors:
ibvirtError: Requested operation is not valid: target hda already exists
and
libvirtError: unsupported configuration: disk bus 'ide' cannot be hotplugged
I understand why the above fails, and maybe a fix may not be straightforward. However, a work-around was to try and boot the VM with a volume already attached to it. This boots the VM, but further attempts to attach a volume to it will fail with the error
libvirtError: unsupported configuration: disk bus 'ide' cannot be hotplugged
This second error seems to be easier to fix.
