Title:
Unexptected API exception when launching instance
Status in OpenStack Compute (nova):
Invalid
Bug description:
Description:
Attempting to launch an instance is giving an unexpected API error.
Strangely, this is happening only with our qcow2 images. We have one vmdk image
and that worked fine. However, trying to convert the qcow2 image to vmdk and
importing it into glance gave the same error.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Attempt to launch instance from Horizon or command line
Expected result:
Successful instance launch.
Actual result:
Horizon displays an "Unable to create the server" message.
Nova shows an unexpected api error.
Environment:
OpenStack Mitaka release running on centos 7 using KVM with LVM
storage backend and Neutron for networking.
Logs and configuration:
I've attached nova-api.log to show the error message.
Additional information:
Yesterday it was working just fine. We attempted to install Designate
and uninstalled it, at some point we created a keystone endpoint and
then removed it as well. Aside from that, nothing in our
configuration should have changed.
