I think it's not a nova bug, isntead , might be some install guide
issue...

you may choose other module to file bug on

  command: [openstack compute service list --service nova-compute]
  failed on ubuntu

Status in OpenStack Compute (nova):
  Invalid

Bug description:
  In https://docs.openstack.org/keystone/queens/install/index-
  ubuntu.html use port 5000 not use the port 35357

  But in https://docs.openstack.org/nova/queens/install/controller-install-ubuntu.html
  and https://docs.openstack.org/nova/queens/install/compute-install-ubuntu.html
  config the 35357 in /etc/nova/nova.conf

  So in https://docs.openstack.org/nova/queens/install/compute-install-ubuntu.html
  when execute command [openstack compute service list --service nova-compute] failed.

  Error In /var/log/nova/nova-api.log is below:
  Failed to discover available identity versions when contacting http://controller:35357.
