Title:
  cloud-init chef module is not getting invoked in Amazon AMI

Status in cloud-init:
  Expired

Bug description:
  The cloud-init chef module is not getting invoked in Amazon AMI,
  literally could not able to find any failures in cloud-init-output.log
  file regarding the same. where as when I try the same with RedHat AMI
  the module is getting triggred but it fails saying `Nov  3 07:14:33
  localhost cloud-init: 2016-11-03 07:14:33,978 - util.py[WARNING]:
  Running module chef (<module 'cloudinit.config.cc_chef' from
  '/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/cloudinit/config/cc_chef.pyc'>)
  failed`.

  cloud-init version am using is 0.7.6 which is default in Amazon ami
  (ami-5ec1673e) that am using.

  Please could someone helps me to solve this. thanks in advance
