rollback of changes to zone.testing/3.9.4-fork

hi all,

my changes to 3.9.4-fork have introduced some new test failures due to the way the test names are being formatted.  i've reverted my changes and will deal with them on monday.  seems safer than mucking stuff up before disappearing for four days.

it is worth noting that our fork as of p6 has 4 test failures.
