All,

A reminder that Canonical's Leave Policy [1] changed this year to enable
employees to carry forward up to 5 unused leave days from one calendar
year to the next.

Key changes:

*With your prior consent as manager, a maximum of 5 unused leave days
may be carried forward from one calendar year to the next;

*All leave days carried forward must be taken as holiday/vacation by 31
March of the following year;

*Failure to use leave days carried forward by 31 March will result in
the uncompensated loss of these leave days;

*Please ask employees carrying leave over into 2013 to email the
Executive Administrator for your team [2], to confirm the number of days
they wish to carry over and the dates that they have booked off between
1st Jan and 31st March so that leave records can be updated correctly.

Some things don't change:

*Canonical will not offer any payment in lieu of unused leave allocation

*We will continue to designate up to 5 days of annual leave to enforce
our regular shutdown period.  Please refer to [3] for confirmation of
December 2012 dates and schedule accordingly.
