Probably a codec issue, I can see the same problem with AVC encoded
files:

* nautilus - displays window with "Creating Properties window."  this
window will never finish, tough you can still browsing files.

Nautilus probably already knows it is a MPEG4 file ("file" will say "ISO Media, MPEG v4 system, version 2"),
properties window functionality is totally lost, 
Should  display something like "MPEG file, could not identify codec" but still complete the operation.

* banshee/totem will not play the files.
* mediainfo
 MPEG-4 (Base Media/Version 2)
 1 Video stream: AVC
 1 Audio stream: AAC

Bug description:
  The following has been tried on several mp4 video files
  (downloaded from youtube via the "download-helper" plugin).

  1. Nautilus:

  Right clicking on the file and going to "properties" results in a message:
  "Creating Properties Window..."      and nothing happens after that.

  PcmanFM on the other hand has no trouble displaying the file's
  properties.

  2. Totem:

  Doesn't play the file. When running in terminal I get:

  VLC on the other hand has no trouble playing the file.
