Making docroot easier to use

I really prefer using the docroot functionality over having page-local
folders all over my filesystem, especially when most of my pages have only
one or two attachments and/or images.

Perhaps I've missed something, but it seems to me that the docroot
functionality could be easier to use?

So far I've only been able to use it by first manually copying or moving
the files I want to use to the docroot location, and then creating the
attachment/link.

I'm not sure of the ideal way to handle this via the menu, but it would be
great if a user pref could be set so that wherever Zim would usually put a
file into the "document tree", especially where it wants to create
page-local folders, a dialog would pop up asking whether the user wanted to
copy or move the file to the docroot, ideally allowing for a sub-directory
to be created on the fly.

If I have missed something along these lines, please let me know.
Otherwise, perhaps we could collect some related ideas in a discussion here
before posting a formal wishlist item. . .
