I would like to point out that this is not working well enough apparently.
I use a daily journal to keep track of various things and today I added
something to "Journal:2019:02:01" and I had "Journal:2018:02:01" in my
history already.

I see two "02:01" entries, so the recursion either ends up too early or
there is no recursion and it just assumes that the conflict will go away
one level higher. :-)
