I believe Ubuntu has 3-button emulation enabled by default (at least, I had to
disable mine on mice for a particular game that required button1+button3 be
recognized differently from button2).

Also, we aren't considering basing whole new actions on middle-clicks, we're
discussing about providing shortcuts to certain actions which are already
available in the indicator's menu, so if users have crippled mice, they just
have to go the longer route. :-)
