I used the cross compiler in 12.04 which is now at 4.6.2.

Hmm I know I added missing USB_AUDIO at one point, but will check and
fill in the missing configs.
I thought I reused the 2.6.38 configs.

Probably, or you could just get gcc-4.6 from 12.04, it should work
with few extra dependencies.
