Hi,

the current package in Ubuntu Precise is based on 3.0.13 (so it locks
up often) but misnamed as 3.0.8 in the deb
as I had not realised there was a version bump and the Debian kernel
build tools did not pick it up or warned me with big enough
letters that there's a mismatch.
Anyway that version at least booted and somewhat worked, whereas the
old 3.0.8 and current stable branch do not boot -
the issue we saw could be related to gcc 4.6 being more picky on
certain code (which may or may not be buggy).

The 3.0.13 code is fixed in tis regard apparently, as I used the same
compiler version for both.
