Re: Improving check-in quality
FWIW....
I agree that we need to do our best with regards to quality of code. I
try to test as extensively as possible before I push to LP... I though
am human and occasionally miss something.
AZC is my first collaborative effort, and also familiarity is limited as
to what is standard practice. I felt that trunk may have 'pains'
occasionally as features are fleshed out was acceptable. I did push a
stable branch, when I thought the code was ready, that I do feel should
always be painless as possible though.
I am however willing to try new methods for controlling trunks 'pain'.
Though I question having to deal with dozens of branches, merging them,
and tracking them. I tend error on keeping things as simple as possible
and having to keep track of my changes and the changes of my team
members in their branches seems daunting. I would hate to see a similar
feature developed independently by several members when they should have
been collaborating.
I am interested as to how other projects cope with these concerns. I
guess we need adopt policies as to how to avoid Jorge's and mine
concerns in the future.
