Re: Audio over HDMI
The voulume control is part of package gnome-media .... I installed it
(along with some dependencies) but didn't go to well. When I ran just
gnome-volume-control from terminal, I got a pop up saying "Waiting for Sound
System to Respond" or something like that ... and it keept looping. I was
just checking ubuntuforums.org and seems that I don't have "hdmi" as audio
hardware .. see below result from 'aplay -l'
aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC269 Analog [ALC269 Analog]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
Thanks again for your comments. As soon as I find a solution I will post it
here. Not sure if the other people here have this same issue or just haven't
tested the sound over HDMI. To be fair, I had an even tougher time getting
HDMI to work at all in Win7 (my config is dual boot).
