ah - in this case, I have no idea why firefox isn't behaving with zoom.

  I just had the very same problem described here <https://discourse.ubuntubudgie.org/t/firefox-will-not-launch-zoom-from-a-zoommtg-url/3415> on a freshly installed Ubuntu/Budgie. Zoom version: 5.4.1 (53350.1027)
  It did work on my Debian/Gnome3 which uses a quite old firefox profile, so I am not sure about vanilla firefox in general. Did not work with chromium as well, but did work with current stable .deb of chrome.
