Re: How many installers for 2.0?

Thanks to Alexander Belchenko's work over the weekend, we now have a
branch that builds the Window installer for 2.0, complete with Explorer,
the new help files and some new bundled plugins.

As discussed in the thread several weeks ago, I think the magic # of
installers is 1. But we're yet to add the user vs admin tweak to the
installer above and we're yet (as far as I know) to get a straight
forward replacement for the installers without Python bundled. Do we
still need them?

There is a bug about reducing the number of installers, and there was
a thread about two months ago where I asked if we could get down to
just one, and Alexander said no: we still need separate python-based
and standalone installers. I don't think this is fixed yet by your
work, but I'd be happy to be wrong.

It cannot be fixed unless you throw away standalone bzr.exe and its installer. And even in this case you either should stick with only one Python version and insist user to run only it for bzr, or provide special installer for every supported Python version (2.4, 2.5, 2.6) because of compiled extensions.
