[Bug 691833] Re: [6.0] pygobject_register_sinkfunc is deprecated
This depends on the version of the python packages you have, and turning
these deprecation warnings off is not something that can be done with a
"try" block, it's about what methods are called directly or indirectly.
You can safely ignore these warnings, they will go away later... keeping as wishlist for after v6.0.

starting the client (OpenSuSE 11.3 with updated packages)
** Message: pygobject_register_sinkfunc is deprecated (GtkWindow)
** Message: pygobject_register_sinkfunc is deprecated (GtkInvisible)
** Message: pygobject_register_sinkfunc is deprecated (GtkObject)
I do not have the impression that something is not working, but these messages shouldn't be there
may be use "try:"
