[Bug 708126] Re: No way to search for products based on variant name
Hi
I you want you can install product_variant_multi_advanced.
This module overwrite the name (the name of the product is now the name of the template + the name of the variant), and also the sale description of the product (automatic generation of the sale description by parsing the product template description).
This is a new module that will be improve soon.
If you want to use product variant check this server bug before
for product_variant_multi_advanced:

Title:
No way to search for products based on variant name
Status in OpenERP Modules (addons):
New
Bug description:
Steps to reproduce:
1) Set up a database with product_variant_multi (this may still be an issue without it; I haven't checked).
2) Set up some products with variants.
3) Navigate to the Products list view.
4) Attempt to search for a specific variant.
This isn't possible. You can work around this by setting up a filter
every time you want to search for a variant, but this is time
consuming. There should simply be a Variants search field.
