Hello,

"product_variant_multi" is part of the extra-addons, which are
maintained by the community, including all the modules created by
"OpenERP" or "Tiny", as none of these are actively developed by our
teams anymore.

For your issue, the problem may be in domain which is set in
"product.variant.dimension.value" form 's field "dimension_id".

So you can modify the domain and you can see the record of the
"product.variant.dimension.type" object

So if you or anyone from the community would like to work on it, please
mark the bug as "In progress" and assign it to yourself (or ask us or
anyone from OpenERP Drivers to do it for you). In the mean time, I will
mark it as "Won't fix" to indicate that no further progress is expected
at the moment.

Title:
  Product variant type does not pass through to edit product variant
  value form

Status in OpenERP Modules (addons):

Bug description:
  After creating a product variant type when you then click to add
  product variant value for that type the edit form opens but the
  product template and product variant fields are empty and attempting
  to search for this template of variant type from value form returns
  empty search and does not allow a new variant value to be added.
