a consequence is, that
*  ALL fields of the o2m must be available in the list view - which might not always be the case 
OR
* editable tree must not be specified - which is not very user friendly 

in our custom modules we are using editable trees very often, because
it's more comfortable in many cases

we would also think most invoice lines can be entered in line editing
instead of form

for now I must admit I have not investigated if all tree/forms of the standard behave correctly 
@Raphael: Do you have special forms in mind?

Bug description:
  rev 4527
  in (editable?) o2m lists it is not possbile to switch to form -hence some data are not editable at all
  Example. Customer + base_contact installed 
  only fields in the list view are editable
