Thank you for your suggestion! However this is unfortunately out of the scope of the current OpenERP release, so we cannot implement it.
The problem is that If you set the default currency on the invoice, It is overridden by the default journal setting.
You should set the default journal instead of the default currency So the related currency (Journal Currency) will automatically applied into invoice, Otherwise there is a conflict in defaults.

Let's close this bug for now, for the sake of clarity in Launchpad, it
can always be reopened later.

  [6.0] account invoice - can not set default currency

Bug description:
  even admin can not set and save the default currency  (to EUR)
  currency for every "new" invoice is empty.
