I have tested your scenario with stable 6 and trunk both at my end but I
all are working as expected.

  MO: consume products overwrites production lot in finished goods

  openobject-server revno 3401
  openobject-clint-web revno 4577

  steps to reproduce:
  create and confirm new MO
  in tab 'finished products' create new production lot (0000187) for the finished goods
  in tab 'products to consume' select an existing production lot (0000013) to consume
  'start production'
  'produce'
  in the wizard select 'Consume'
  in tab 'finished products' you now find production lot 0000013 instead of the new created 0000187
