Hi Edwin,

I disagree with the assessment that a phone call shouldn't associate
with lead, and actually don't understand why you don't want to fix
this.

A user makes a phone call to a lead to:
1) identify if the lead is viable/needs to be promoted to an opportunity
2) just like sending an email, you want to track any "touchpoint" you
have with the prospect/customer and track it.  (Why would you track
sending and email and not track a phone call and meeting held with a
prospect? Your default logic should be - there is a lead - we
communicate with that lead across several multiple channels (in
person(mtgs), email, phone call, letter, sms text, etc - we should
record history on the lead to make sure we properly track our effort
and conversations.) How do we have a very simple complete picture of
the "conversations/engagement" with a lead. Just because this flow
isn't what OpenERP themselves do - doesn't mean that the system
shouldn't have the capability and support this.

So as a comparison - when you record a phone call for an Opportunity
does it record history???
When you send an email in a lead - does it record the history?

If yes, then recording a phone call should do this for a lead as well.

This is a pretty simple philosophy that the other CRM's in the market support.
"Track all communication and touchpoints with the prospects and
customers - across all channels - not just "select" channels".

You've stated the 4 activities that will update the communication and
history of a lead, all good information - > phone call is missing -
this is a functional bug.

Our recommendation: copy the code from opportunities.

The fact that Phone call is an act window and doesn't update the bug
is the "exact" problem and issue.

Please reopen and address.

Without this capability it is a weakness in OpenERP CRM and an error.
The phone call form displays the "opportunity" that a phone call is
associated with.
This should carry over to the communication/history as result.

Simple test:
>From an open lead - open the phone call, record the information
associated with the lead, and save it. Look at the history of the
lead, is it populated?
No, it is a bug.

  To recreate issue.
  1) open an existing lead
  2) click on the phone call link
  3) enter phone call information - making sure opportunity field is populated
  4) save the phone call
  5) navigate back to the lead record and look in communication history - no entry for the phone call is made.

  Expected result
  Step 5 - phone call history is displayed in the communication history of the lead on an associated opportunity/lead
