Hello ,

I have checked your issue and I have faced the same problem because the
"Sale/Manager" group is created in server/security.xml file so when we
create a database with only base module then "Sale/Manager" group is
created so the end user will try to use this group for creating a
product.

But we have a give a rights of product_product model in sale module
which should be in product module.

So please remove the rights from sale module and add this rights to
product module because the sale module is  already dependent on product
module.

  product module does not let users create products

Status in OpenERP Modules (addons):
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Step to reproduce:
  1/ create an new database (no demo needed)
  2/ skip the installation wizard that ask you to install modules
  3/ through administration, install the "product" module
  4/ create a new user
  5/ As there is no "Product / Manager" group (???) add the group "Sales / Manager" to this new user
  6/ connect with this new user
  7/ try to create a new product.
  8/ ?
  9/ PROFIT
