I've also came across this in manufacturing and logged a bug #796894
before seeing this bug.

The workaround there may be tested to see if it fixes this issue too.

In the calendar view a new record is created when you click on a time
that doesn't have a record in it.  Maybe the code in the gantt chart was
initially trying to do the same thing but stuffed it up and now creates
a new record on any click.

  * install project_long_term
  * in the project part, schedule phase/task scheduling
  * Project/Long Term Planning/Resource Allocations, display the allocation for a resource
  * Drag and drop one line

  Obtained result : it opens a form view to create a new resource

  Expected result : it just drags and drops the resource's allocation
