Beware: in the current default data, there is no managerial relation set
up, so by default you'll have a single row for "Fabien Pickaers". See
screenshot for what should be displayed, it does look very empty as the
tree is essentially empty.

If that is not what you see, could you take a screenshot or what is
displayed?

  install HR
  human resources -> employee -> fabien pinckaers -> (sidebar)subordonate hierarchy
  in new window, clicking on fabien pinckaers gives blank view
