Yes ! Cairo-Dock (core) is like an API or a library !

We think it's much better to force people to install plugins through a meta-package (cairo-dock). If someone, doesn't want to install our plugins he can have a look on other cairo-dock packages. If he see that 'cairo-dock' is a meta-package which installs cairo-dock-core and cairo-dock-plugins, he will know that he can install cairo-dock-core package without plugins.
But I think if there isn't this meta-package, many people will install only cairo-dock (core) without looking outside (or complain on our forum) if a plugins package exists...
Most people want to install cairo-dock and its plug-ins... not the opposite ! So why simplify the task of this minority?
>>Also, don't forget that each 'integration' plug-ins DO NOT required dependences (without shlibs)! These plug-ins are loaded if you use a WM or another (in fact if one library is installed)
E.g: currently if someone on Gnome installs cairo-dock-plugins (v2.1.3-5) from Sid repositories, he will install cairo-dock-xfce-integration-plugin too. But this package depends of libthunar-vfs-1-2 (which depends on thunar-data, etc. => total > 10Mo) which is useless.
>> PS: but I don't know why you have to split each plug-in :-/ . It seems
>> that it's not a 'standard' (e.g. : compiz)
It was just to say that each compiz plugins (from Compiz project) aren't split into different packages
But do what you want !
Our only request is that if someone launches this command from a
terminal 'apt-get install cairo-dock', it will install the same files as
deb packages from Ubuntu repositories (so cairo-dock-core + plug-ins and
integration plug-ins without any dependences)
Thank you!

Matth
