thanks for the details.
so no 64bits, no dual-screen, or anything that could be special ?
could you please try with the default theme (mv
~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme ~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme.bak
and restart the dock) ?
I'm thinking there is some problem in Maverick, since I can run the dock on
2 machines with opengl (nVidia and Intel graphic cards, 32bits), but it's
hard to be sure.

If (User Space File System) is not checked in the Compiz Settings Manager, Cairo Dock will shutdown or display the Cairo-Dock configuration manager if a laucher that contains file system folders is used.
