[Bug 1005102] Re: Cairo dock does not uninstall

Hello,

This is strange. If you're able to install Cairo-Dock from the Software
Center, you should be able to remove with the same way.

> But I get a message at startup saying Cairo can't run because the config files are gone.
What's the content of this message. Please note that Cairo (libcairo) is a different project than Cairo-Dock.
Maybe are you using the Cairo-Dock session? Or maybe Cairo-Dock was set a program to launch at startup (a file should be available there: ~/.config/autostart/cairo-dock*.desktop)?

If you want to remove all cairo-dock packages, you can launch this command from a terminal:
   $ sudo apt-get purge cairo-dock cairo-dock-core cairo-dock-data libgldi3 cairo-dock-plug-ins cairo-dock-plug-ins-data cairo-dock-plug-ins-integration cairo-dock-plug-ins-dbus-interface-python

Title:
  Cairo dock does not uninstall

Status in “cairo-dock” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I can't get rid of Cairo-Dock. I tried using the Software Centre and
  I've tried 'sudo apt-get purge cairo-dock cairo-dock-plug-ins && sudo
  apt-get autoremove' in both a Terminal and a Root Terminal. But I get
  a message at startup saying Cairo can't run because the config files
  are gone.

  This was a question that had a command line command to finally remove
  it which works. But I'm making it a bug as I have 12.04 now and this
  software still does not uninstall from the software centre.
