Thanks for the details !
I'm quite surprised, I thought that gvfs gave the dock wrong icon names on
startup, but since it works when copying the icons in local, it means that
the names are ok, and that it's GTK that is not finding the icons.
Maybe because it takes some time to load the icons theme...
it's not the first time we have problems with GTK icons theme :-/

  This problems is common to every dock theme on my  64 xubuntu desktop
