Is it possible to give us more details about the difference between both
versions? Did you uninstall the latest version of NetBeans (7.3 RC1)?

Can you post the content of the NetBeans launcher?
It should be in ~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme/launchers (simply drag and drop all netbeans launchers into a text editor (or launch this command:
   $ gedit  ~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme/launchers/*.desktop

Also, what's the output messages when you launch this command into a terminal:
  $ which netbeans

And where did you find the launcher of NetBeans 7.3 Beta2?

  Removing and adding a different launcher not working as expected

Bug description:
  I have several instances of NetBeans installed in my computer. The launcher for the latest of them (7.3 RC1) was in the dock and everything worked fine until a problem in NetBeans is forcing me to use a previous Version (7.3 Beta2).
  I removed the NetBeans 7.3 RC1 from the dock, and it worked, but when I add the new launcher (NetBeans 7.3 Beta2) the dock shows again the previous launcher (7.3 RC1), and it does launch the RC1 version instead.
  The workaround is to remove the launcher, quit the dock, and then add it.
  Cairo Dock Version: 3.1.0
  Linux Mint 14 x64
  Nvidia 313.18
  Desktop theme: Boje
