what you can try, is to temporary disable libdconfsettings:
sudo mv /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gio/modules/libdconfsettings.so ~

then try to see if the dock behaves correctly

you can put the module back with:
sudo mv ~/libdconfsettings.so  /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gio/modules
