Re: [Bug 1248550] [NEW] display not refreshing after moving/closing/opening windows
Hi,
"cairo dock does not refresh the display properly when moving windows
around"
the dock does not draw the windows, it's the Window Manager that does.
In your updates, I don't see cairo-dock, but I see some Compiz updates as
well as libdecoration; that may be the problem.
what if you use another WM (like metacity) ?
did you change anything in the dock's settings ? I'm thinking of the option
"how to draw minimized windows" in the "Taskbar" section (in the advanced
configuration), which can cause some troubles with some WM, if set on
"display a thumbnail of the window"; what if you change this option ? (you
may need to re-log in)

Title:
display not refreshing after moving/closing/opening windows
Status in Cairo-Dock : Core:
New
Bug description:
Current version: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Cairo Dock 3.3.2
Hardware:
IBM 9228 Workstation
Processor : 4x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU 5150 @ 2.66GHz
Memory : 4120MB (1167MB used)
Operating System : Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS
Resolution : 1920x1200 pixels
OpenGL Renderer : Gallium 0.4 on NV49
X11 Vendor : The X.Org Foundation
NVIDIA Corporation G71GL [Quadro FX 3500] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA
controller])
After recent update through ubuntu software manager, cairo dock does
not refresh the display properly when moving windows around. Jagged
edges, ghost images of windows as they are moved, etc. When I move
along the app launcher, the pop ups all overwrite each other creating
quite a visual mess. Gnome classic interface works just fine.
Problem occurs at all times when using Cairo Dock. Happens under all
themes I have tried.
Problem happened after my 11/2 update. Here are the apt-get details
of that update:
Start-Date: 2013-11-02 09:47:22
Commandline: aptdaemon role='role-commit-packages' sender=':1.78'

End-Date: 2013-11-02 09:48:38
While in Gnome classis and I run the command below from terminal (cairo-dock -l debug > debug.txt), I get this result:

The launcher appears at the bottom with display refresh problems I
have noted above.
I also noticed a similar issue was reported as a question on askubuntu:

This askubuntu issue may or may not be related but thought I would
include this.
