Public bug reported:

i don't know if this is allowed, but it's by far the most efficient way
to report my bug to multiple development teams..

my entire computer crashed into a pulp yesterday, when i changed 1 simple setting in compiz while running cairo-dock as a window-manager/desktop environment (using the option 'ciaro-dock (Gnome)' in the ubuntu login menu, and i had to jump though a lot of hoops and call for tips,
to get my system up and running again.

it's as concise as i could be yesterday, and once again, this could be
cause by any number of components, so i'm reporting it to several
development teams as a web-link to ubuntuforums.org
