[Bug 676742] [NEW] Adobe Reader Firefox Add-On not honoring user preferences

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: acroread

1) lsb_release -rd
Description:	Ubuntu 10.10
Release:	10.10

2) apt-cache policy acroread
acroread:
  Installed: 9.4-1maverick1
  Candidate: 9.4-1maverick1
  Version table:
 *** 9.4-1maverick1 0
        500 http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/ maverick/partner i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

apt-cache policy firefox
firefox:
  Installed: 3.6.12+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.10.1
  Candidate: 3.6.12+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.10.1
  Version table:
 *** 3.6.12+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.10.1 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/main i386 Packages
        500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-security/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     3.6.10+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu3 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main i386 Packages

3) What is expected to happen is when opens Firefox, clicks Tools ->
Add-Ons -> Plugins, and under "Adobe Reader 9.4" click the button
Disable to disable the Plugin, and either immediately open a PDF file
link or restart Firefox and try to open a PDF file link, one is prompted
to save the file. Example link: http://arxiv.org/pdf/0711.0912

4) What happens instead is that the PDF file is opened within Firefox
and if one goes back to Plugins, the button is back to Disable, as if
the user had never previously set the Adobe Reader 9.4 Plugin
preference.
