I saw during apport that this might be considered an unreportable bug
since skype isn't an ubuntu package

I had the same problems when I was running the ubuntu version.
I switched over to the version from skype downloads to see if that would work

Do you need me to go back and test the ubuntu version?

I'm not used to having so many problems with skype
