[Bug 920261] [NEW] Flash installer for ubuntu 11.10 64-bit installs wrong flash plugin

Public bug reported:

When attempting to play pandora.com using the software center install of
adobe-flash, it installs flashplugin-alternative.so.

Using the plugin with Firefox causes the brower to freeze and give a
blank pop-up dialog with option of ok or cancel (Which does not work)
the close button is the only one that works. Sometimes when it freezes,
I have to kill the firefox process to get the browser to close.

I went to Adobes site and download the 64-bit (other) version. The one
selected was the .tar.gz version.

I then used the software center to remove the version installed from
software center. I then had to go to the /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
directory, and used sudo rm flashplugin-alternative.so.

I then manually moved the working version which is libflashplayer.so to
the plugins directoy. It now works great.
