Hardware: Dell Optiplex 755 Small Form Factor
OS: Kubuntu 14.04

Issue:
All packages are up to date yet for some reason, the rear input jack does not work with my microphone. At first glance all should be fine, Microphone is not muted in any system setting, yet if I use Audacity or Skype all I get is static. The same microphone and input jack work perfectly under Kubuntu 12.04.

Also, the front Microphone jack works fine under both 12.04 and 14.04

Any help is greatly appreciated.
